*मी... माझा बाप... आणि माझी आई... !!!* @doctorforbeggars  हि मला भेटली होती साधारण तीन वर्षांपुर्वी ... !  वय साधारण 35,  सोबत 5-6 वर्षांचा मुलगा...!  एका धार्मिक स्थळाबाहेर मागुन खायची.  औषधं देता देता ... चांगली ओळख झाली. मला ती दादा म्हणायला लागली !  दरवेळी मला कोडं पडायचं... हा मुलगा कुणाचा ?  जर तीचा असेल, तर याचे वडिल कुठं  आहेत ?  याला वडिल असतील, तर मग हि एकटीच कशी दिसते ?  एकेदिवशी मी विचारलंच... !  .... लहानपणीच आईवडील वारले, जवळचं कुणी नाही... पुर्णतः निराधार.  जगण्यासाठी भीक मागणं हे सोपं काम  निवडलं. दिवसा भीक मागायची आणि रात्री कुठंतरी आडोसा शोधुन झोपायचं, हा रोजचा दिनक्रम ! रानटी जनावरं फक्त जंगलातच नाही, तर समाजातही अनेक ठिकाणी सापडतात.  मला तर वाटतं नरभक्षक जनावरं जंगलात आणि मादीभक्षक जनावरं समाजात राहतात !  अशाच एका मादीभक्षक जनावराच्या तावडीत ती एका रात्री सापडली... आरडाओरडा केला... पण तो ऐकायला कुणालाच वेळ नव्हता... ! प्रत्येकाला कुठंतरी पोचायचं होतं... !  या झटापटीत एक मुल हिच्या पदरात प...

बीड जिल्ह्यातील अनेक ऊसतोडणी कामगार महिलांना गर्भाशय का नाहीत? अशा मथळ्याखाली "The Hindu" या वृत्तपत्रात एक लेख प्रसिद्ध झाला होता. त्याचा थोडक्यात सारांश असा: "मराठवाड्यातील दुष्काळी भागात दुष्काळ ज्या प्रमाणात असेल तेवढ्या अधिक प्रमाणात कुटुंबे ऊसतोडणी साठी migrate होतात. नवरा- बायकोचे मिळून एक युनिट ठरवले जाते. एका जोडप्याला एक टन ऊस तोडण्याचे २५० रुपये मिळतात.४-५ महिन्यात साधारण ३०० टन ऊस तोडला जातो.  दोघांपैकी एकाने जरी एक दिवसाची सुट्टी घेतली तर मुकादम ५०० रुपये दंड आकारतो. उसतोडणीच्या हंगामात जी काही असेल तीच या जोडप्याची वार्षिक कमाई आणि उत्पन्न असते. त्यामुळे त्यांना सुट्टी घेणे परवडणारे नसते. मासिक पाळी साधारणपणे महिन्यातून एक वेळा कधी २ वेळा येत असल्याने या महिला साधारण २-३ दिवस तरी काम करू शकत नाहीत. मासिक पाळी मध्ये महिलांची अतिशय गैरसोय होण्याचे कारण म्हणजे ऊसतोडणी च्या ठिकाणी पाले ठोकुन ही कुटुंबे राहतात, त्यांना संडास बाथरूम ची सोय नसते. शिवाय रोजगार तर बुडतो आणि वरुन दंड ही भरावा लागतो. यामुळे अनेक महिला ऑपरेशन करून गर्भाशय काढून टाकतात व...
